Workpackages Description
The EPI-Water research project is developed in seven Workpackages (WPs) and the research activities are structured into three consecutive steps, as described in the plan of the work. Below there are the descriptions of each WP and their main objectives.
WP 5: Synthesis and lessons learned
WP 5 will synthesise the insights gained from the WP3 and WP4 research activities. It will produce a set of concise, instructive and well-tailored recommendations both i) for policy making and ii) for research. The results of WP5 will be integrated in the dissemination products developed in WP6.
WP5 OBjECtives
- Synthesise the insights gained from WP3 and WP4 so as to provide policy-relevant information guiding the EPI implementation in all regions of Europe, but potentially also outside Europe
- Formulate a clear and concise set of policy recommendation on the role of EPI for the WFD implementation, other water-related policies (flood, water scarcity, etc.) as well as other sector policies such as the CAP, the EU Energy policy and the Climate adaptation initiatives
- Develop recommendation on the design, possible improvements and use of national water accounts for supporting the assessment, implementation and evaluation of EPI, including in areas where these accounts are not yet established
- Identify research gaps and their priorities as to help to focus future research efforts to areas with largest gains for water-related policy domains
