Application
The Summer School is targeted to doctoral and post-doctoral students.
Admission is conditional on the presentation by each student of his/her doctoral work; therefore PhD students who want to apply need to be advanced in their PhD and need to have written at least one substantive chapter. It is not necessary that PhD applicants have completely finished their thesis.
Application is restricted to current EAERE members (year 2012), both European and Non-European citizens. Check your EAERE membership status. Information on how to become an EAERE member is available in the EAERE website.
Given the highly interactive activities planned at the Summer School, the number of participants is limited to 20.
There is no participation fee.
In order to apply please send by e-mail to the Summer School Secretariat a single .pdf file containing the following documents in the following order:
- Application Form [.doc version (195 Kb)] complete in all its field and with original signatures;
- your curriculum vitae;
- a letter of reference from your supervisor with original signatures;
- the first draft of the paper you will present (no length constraint).
Please note that only application received in a single .pdf file by e-mail with the application form and the letter of reference with original signatures, will be accepted.
Regulations of the Summer School
- Application is restricted to 2012 EAERE member (Join EAERE calendar year 2012).
- Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
- Presentation of your submitted paper is conditional on acceptance to the Summer School.
- All accepted students must attend the Summer School for it's entire duration: they are requested to arrive on the 2nd of September and depart after the school is over.
- Students who do not respect the stated deadlines will not be admitted.
- As the School will be conducted in English, applicants should have an adeguate working knowledge of that language.
Scholarships
Applicants may apply for a scholarship which will include:
- accommodation and subsistence expenses directly covered for the duration of the Summer School (7 nights in double room. For a single room the difference would be the participant's responsibility);
- surface transport from Catania airport to Belpasso.
Deadlines
All applications must arrive to the Summer School Secretariat by June 24th, 2012.
Acceptance notifications will be sent out from July 8th, 2012.
Accepted students must confirm their participation by July 15th, 2012.
Final papers for presentation must be received by the Summer School Secretariat before July 31 st, 2012.
Accepted applicants that do not respect the following deadlines will not be admitted to the Summer School.
