Prof. Pushpam Kumar

Over the past two decades, Dr. Pushpam Kumar
has acquired extensive experience as a teacher, researcher and research
coordinator in the field of environmental economics and management
at the University of Liverpool (current), the University of Cambridge,
the Institute of Economic Growth and the University of Delhi.
His research interests include: valuation and accounting of ecosystem
services and environmental damages; policies and response options
for ecosystem management; and poverty-ecosystems linkages. He was
Coordinating Lead Author and Coordinator, Responses Working Group
for the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. He was also Lead Author for
the Fourth Assessment of the IPCC (Mitigation) which won the 2007
Nobel Peace Prize.
In addition to his work with TEEB, he currently
serves on the expert panel of the European Environmental Agency (EEA)
on Accounting for Ecosystem Services; he is also a member of the National
Ecosystem Assessment Expert Panel in the UK (2009-2011). Pushpam is
an elected member of the Board of the European Society for Ecological
Economics (ESEE). He is on the editorial board of several journals,
including Ecological Economics, Global Environmental Politics and
Ecological Economy, and he is a regular contributor of policy-relevant
research papers on the theme of ecological economics to journals of
international repute. |
